UMVIM’s crew, led by Billy Robinson, did a mammoth job cleaning up and put their witness on view after a number of storms roared through various counties in South Carolina. Look for a wrap-up in the May issue.

Payday lending is seen as a growing problem among the elderly helped by a financial counselor in Charleston. Financial problems across the state are escalating.

Children’s health care, payday lending, cigarette taxes, children’s sentencing and rural education are among the topics being called to the attention of S.C. legislators by the state’s United Methodist Women.

Epworth Children’s Home is making some traumatic cost-cuts, including closing its school. If it fails to raise $113,000 by the end of the year, it will have to curtail the Early Intervention Center.
